This page explains, in plain language, what personal information is collected through putorana-plateau.com and when you take part in a Putorana expedition, why, and what you can do about it.

Who is responsible

This website and the Putorana expeditions are run by New Explorers. For any question about your personal information, write to contact@newexplorers.world.

What information is collected, and why

• Contact form — When you send a message through the contact form, your name, email address and message are collected so that we can reply to you. The form is delivered by email through FormSubmit (formsubmit.co).
• Booking form — When you ask to join an expedition, the information you enter in the booking form (hosted on Google Forms) is collected to handle your request, organise the trip and contact you about it.
• Travel arrangements — Once the group is confirmed, the details needed to organise the expedition are collected, such as your passport information to apply for the permits, and what's needed for flights and accommodation. They are used only for that purpose.
• Health information — If you tell us about a medical condition, allergy or medication that matters for your safety during the trip, it is used only for that purpose and only with your agreement.
• Payment — Payments are made via Wise, Revolut, or bank transfer. Your payment details are handled by those providers under their own privacy policies; records of payments may be kept where this is required by law.
• The group chat — Before and during the trip, participants usually communicate in a WhatsApp group. Other members of the group can see your name, phone number and profile, as set in your own WhatsApp settings.
• Visiting the website — The website is hosted by Netlify, which, like any web host, processes technical information such as your IP address to deliver the pages and keep the site secure. The website itself uses no analytics, no advertising and no tracking cookies.

Who your information is shared with

Your information is never sold. It is only shared with the services and providers needed to run the website and organise the expeditions, each under its own privacy policy:

• Netlify — website hosting
• FormSubmit — delivery of contact-form messages
• Google — booking form (Google Forms) and email
• WhatsApp — the group chat
• Wise, Revolut, or your bank — payments
• Russian authorities — permits for the restricted-access city of Norilsk and for the protected area
• Airlines — the flights between Moscow and Norilsk
• The base on Lake Lama and other local providers — accommodation and transport

Some of these services and providers are outside the European Union, including in Russia. Your information is sent there only as far as is needed to organise your trip.

Announcements

Your email address is used to reply to you and to organise your trip. If you have taken part in or booked an expedition, you may occasionally receive announcements about new expeditions; you can unsubscribe at any time by replying to any message or writing to contact@newexplorers.world. If you have only contacted us for information, you will receive announcements only if you ask for them or agree to receive them.

How long information is kept

Messages and booking details are kept in email and in Google Forms. You can ask at any time to see them or to have them deleted, and they will be deleted, except for payment records and any other information that must be kept by law.

Your rights

You can ask at any time to see the personal information held about you, correct it, have it deleted, stop receiving announcements, or withdraw any consent you have given. Just write to contact@newexplorers.world. If you live in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Cookies

This website does not set cookies. It only remembers the language you choose (English or Italian) in your own browser, so the site opens in that language next time; this isn't used for tracking and you can clear it at any time from your browser settings. The booking form is hosted by Google, which may set its own cookies when you open it, and the links to Instagram and YouTube take you to those websites, which have their own policies.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published on this page with a new date.
